Matt Doug Henwood already broadcasts a KPFA show called Behind the News. I think the show is a great idea, but you might want to check with him first about the name, I know you are acquainted with him, I've heard you interviewed by Doug. Good luck!

I love the idea. You should have the flexibility to write about whatever you want whenever you want.

Freaking awesome idea! Also--Russiagate obviously requires thoroughness (especially considering the subject) so I'm glad you're taking the time needed to make it good. Can't wait for this new project!

Sounds good. You're one of the few left who I consider a credible source for news. Thanks for hangin' in. You're appreciated.

Matt, if all I got out of this was a few articles and a 40 dollar donation, it’d be my privilege. I appreciate all your work over the years and was happy to contribute in some way, and I’m sure many others are too. Take your time, do your thing.

This sounds like a wonderful idea...long overdue. And I can think of no one better able to do a hangup job of it. Little current problem I need help with: The above post says "this first installment has..." but when I click on the logo above, all I get to is a page that shows a large version of the logo. It doesn't "play" when I further click on it. How do I get access to the first installment? Many thanks!

I agree with views already posted. It would be immensely helpful to expose "the media" ("mainstream commercial respectable dedicated for polite society") in their cynical bid to juice ratings in the name of "Trump bashing". In doing so, I hope you go after the "demi-Gods" of MSNBC such as Mathews, Hayes, Maddow, and the Prophet Larry O 'Donnell - or in other words the usual line up "progressive" firebrands and those who have just descended from Sinai with the "latest Word from God" aka "latest scoop right after this message. Also it would be of great service to skewer the ostentation and pretension of NYTimes "celebrity" writers who are now positioned as familiar talking heads providing appropriate background to the NYTimes "scoop" du jour. All of whom are given "air time" in order to "juice the ratings". It appears to be an entire vast lucrative industry of "jawing for dollars" each day, every day. It appears to be also a current cultural practice ripe for satirical attack akin to what we saw on Mystery Science Theater.

Matt - great idea. Just making sure you're aware that Doug Henwood has a long running show on KPFA (Pacifica Radio in Berkeley) called Behind the News? It's just the first thing that came to mind when I heard the title. Thanks for your great writing.

It could also be a pop-up video style treatment.

I think you’re onto a best seller TV or radio show or even a great board game, ages 9 to 85, called “what’s my lie?” In it, players read front page newspaper articles line by line, and players on teams try to guess which statements are true and which are false. At the end of the article, the team that got the most points for correctly naming the true or false (or maybe just catching the most false ones) would win. Educational and fun for the whole family!!!

I play this every time I pick up a NYT left on a coffee shop table, but currently it’s only a source of great despondence for me. Why not make it entertaining? Which is obviously it’s true mission anyway. And why not make a buck off it?
