Great and FYI:

Biden’s own CIA director, career diplomat and Russia hand William Burns, has long argued that NATO expansion, especially with regard to Ukraine, is a provocative miscalculation that will enrage Russia and exacerbate tensions across eastern Europe. In a 2008 memo to Condoleeza Rice, then Bush’s Secretary of State, Burns wrote:

“Ukrainian entry into NATO is the brightest of all redlines for the Russian elite (not just Putin). In more than two and a half years of conversations with key Russian players, from knuckle-draggers in the dark recesses of the Kremlin to Putin’s sharpest liberal critics, I have yet to find anyone who views Ukraine in NATO as anything other than a direct challenge to Russian interests.”

With the war in Afghanistan wrapped up, we need new territory provided with arms and advisors to keep our war machined cranking out the hardware and bullshit.

By the time this debacle dies out, which I hope it does soon, US citizens will believe there was a war and we won it even though no shot was fired. But more seriously, I fear the US creating some kind of false-flag situation in Ukraine, a bombing, a supposed cyber attack, and who knows, maybe even the intentional killing of Russians in the Donbass, in order to blame the Russians. Since none of their prognostications have come to fruition, the US may be compelled to create something to save face.

Hey — does anyone else think it was Putin’s idea all along to invade Ukraine after Crimea, but he had to hold off during the Trump admin because he knew Trump was too trigger happy & would potentially get involved/go nuclear?

Religions are clearly captured by the social/political/financial structure of society. Nonetheless is it not necessary to posit some transcendental 'truth/love/compassion' devoid of authority? Is there not an obligation of enquiry by any human that sees the injustice of human societies? Aren't we all reflections of and in large or small ways contributors to the 'mad' world we live in? Doesn't social responsibility begin with the link between personal responsibility and the society we 'participate in'? Isn't our every relationship between each other the core beginning point to see the extrapolated general calamity and cure for our selves and our fellow humans? Doesn't all this imply a collective error in our thinking and our personal buy in to that error? Does the 'assumption' that the thinker is separate from his thoughts prevent a perception that transcends thinking and arises from love and compassion?

I think the Russian invasion is a disinformation campaign designed to create fear. Then when the invasion doesn’t happen, the Dems can run on “We prevented war in Europe.” Too cynical?
