Fantastic news. Your content is better than ever on Substack. Really excited to see what direction you and Katie take the show now that you are out from the shadow of the Rolling Stone.

Not going to lie, it was a little painful to hear you both choke out the Petsmart ad copy... (though also, a little hilarious, at your expense).... I would be willing to pay whatever subscription fee it would require to avoid you two having to do that again.

Love you, but she might be the most annoying human ever. Please find a better partner.

I would love to see Robert F. Kennedy Jr invited on as a guest considering how he certainly fits the description of the model guest in a number of ways.

Great journalism, Matt and Katie. MSM looks pale and predictiable in comparison. I'll be subscribing. Keep it up!

Makes sense this is happening --- wishing you the best Matt. I did enjoy the drinking games. That made the first debate in 2020 absolutely hilarious. It was my favorite podcast for a while. I bought a mug and everything lol. Sadly, as funny as she is, I soured on Katie's moral righteousness (and many other progressives) since I've been red pilled.

Actually you have something to do with that. The holes you poked in the pro riot arguments did make me re-evaluate a lot of my old anti establishment views. Which were cemeted during the recession around the time I first followed your work. Then I took a news break for several years until the pandemic started. Much more of classic liberal now. But the episode with Kryatal and Saager got me thinking... why don't you have on more non progressives on?

Over time I discovered how false a lot of the narratives from the left towards the right are. Generally the right seems much more open to views that don't perfectly align with theirs. Whereas there is a religious like culture of conformity on most of the left.

Signed up and ready. Love your work.

Not to meddle, but the whole Dr. Cornel West and Harvard tenure controversy deserves more than a mention by your readers. Something to consider as he makes his way back to NYC at Union Theological Seminary. You have had him on to speak regularly I suspect but it would be good to see how he transitions in the Fall. We need to look out for our greatest minds in this culture -- and does he fit the bill. One of the greatest national treasures - Dr. West.

FYI - he did a brilliant lecture series on W.E.B DuBois at Dartmouth in 2017 - and it just came to Youtube (or I just found it either way) ---- when you watch him speak over the course of 10 weeks in this series, you begin to realize three things:

1. How much of the world we do not know (unexamined life is not worth living type motivation)

So inspirational - and his reference list is second to none when he lectures. Fail better, begin

again.

2. That our educational systems in the US are nothing like they should be - see Dr. West lecture, how he is able to recite with substance, to analyze meaning, to integrate hundreds of writings/authors/themes/ideas at a drop of a hat, and then make it applicable in this society for old/middle-aged/young audiences to make meaning --- teaching, learning, asking and producing provocative ideas. Really exceptional.

3. We can all contribute to "the Paideia" and "Parrhesia" coming from any background, and turn into the pain of what we see, witness, experience every day creating renewed strength and resilience. Indifference is the enemy.

Anyhow, thank you for all the valuable work you do Matt & Katie (and team TK)! Will be with you the entire way. As Mr. Valvano would said to his late son Jimmy V ---- "My bags are packed". (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WUFNcRjCBg )

Cheers.

While I have heard of Rolling Stone magazine over the years, I may have only seen the cover of one or two issues and maybe browsed an article or two over the years. Not my style. Neither was Interview magazine while it lasted, but I would read that if I found a copy. As to Matt Taibbi, I sent a contribution at one time to support investigative journalism, a fading profession much like journalism in general. However, like people in Russia and like Putin himself as I would imagine, this Catholic is not only no fan of "Pussy Riot" but I think jailing those folks was right and just. I deplore the "pink hat brigade" who showed up a day after our 45th USA President Donald Trump's federal Inauguration, and if I could have attended events in Washington DC swamp on January 6th, 2021 I would have been there in a heartbeat. I think it odd that some Americans celebritize the illegal crossing of the Edmund Pettis Bridge, but think the legal gathering in Charlottesville, Virginia was some kind of deplorable activity. The incredible liberal bias suffusing our media today, to include our social media now, is American blasphemy and I have to conclude based on your list of interviewees that I will not miss your brand of issue and interviewee coverage. Rolling Stone must be hurting financially or about to "go under" if they saw fit to let you two go.

I could sense it coming, your departure from Rolling Stone. The shakedown in the media is cutting across the entire spectrum of opinion. Left/progressive voices haven't been spared. While ideology might be determinant, honesty and courage matter the most, and are rare as hen's teeth today. It's as though everyone is a Krysten Sinema, transitioning from faux anti-war and green activist to corporate swamp creature. My mate and I will be watching and sharing. Keep the flame burning in our Woke dystopia.
